Weight Check

We had another weight check today. Harper made the charts! He is in the 5-10%. He weighed in at 15 pounds 11 ounces. That is over a 2 pound gain in three weeks. We are so proud!

Halloween Costumes

We are trying to decide what Harper will be for Halloween. He has three costumes. My sister in Michigan mailed me Nathan's customer. However, it was made for a Michigan Halloween. Probably too thick to wear here. She was also shopping and found another costume for him to wear. I bought one that was made of thinner material for a South Carolina Halloween.

Ware Visit

Here are some pictures from our visit with the Wares.

First Hair Cut

Well I still can't believe it, but Harper had his first hair cut (tear). No more toupee or mohawk in the wind. Aunt Meredith cut the long pieces off of the top and the sides. He is now a big boy.

Harper's Baptism

Harper was baptized on Sunday. He did very well and didn't fuss too much during it. Grandma and Grandpa Ware and Aunt Meredith and Nathan came down from North Carolina. Meme and Poppy Lancaster came down from Michigan (they are here all week). Many of our friends all attended. We are excited that Emily and Lewis are Harper's Godparents. Thanks to Melanie and Ron and Richard for coming to our church just for Harper's baptism.

Fall Fest

This weekend if Fall Fest at Hampton Lake. Last night was an oyster roast even though it was pouring rain. Today they had Pumpkin Fest. It was open to the public and they had fun activities for the kids. They got 500 pumpkins to put in the field next to the playground. I tried to get some pictures of Harper, but the ground was too wet for him to smile. I had to have a photo shoot in our front yard to get some pics of his skeleton shirt.

Okay so I went a little overboard, but he is too cute not to!

Pumpkin Patch

Amy, Henry, Harper and I tagged along with the moms group from church to go to the pumpkin patch. We had a great time and took some great pictures. The weather was perfect, just cool enough to feel like fall but the sun was so warm and bright. There was so much for the kids to do-a petting barn, bounce house, hay maze, John Deere tricycle race track, hay rides. We are already looking forward to going back when the boys are bigger. It was so nice to have an outing during the day.

Okay, so this wasn't really a pumpkin patch. The pumpkins came from a box, but we still had a great time!

Church Stuff

FYI-Harper is being baptized next Saturday, October 26th at the Buckwalter Campus at 9:30.

Last night we had a concert at our church, the Arts-Music-Justice tour. Sara Groves, Brandon Heath, Sandra McCracken, Derek Webb and Charlie Peacock performed. Harper came with us and some of the women from church passed him around while Allen and I enjoyed the concert. It was really a great message.

Here is Brandon performing his new song.

Last Monday Mark and Erin invited us to a benefit dinner for Young Life. They had celebrity Chef Robert Irvine from Dinner Impossible there. It is truly amazing what Mark and Erin are doing for young people bringing their relationships closer to God. It is a gift to be able to do that. We felt honored to be a part of the special night.

Things to be Happy About

In no particular order...
1. Having a clean and uncluttered house for the open house.
2. Having a great husband who helped clean and unclutter the house inside and out.
3. The fall weather.
4. Harper's warm comfy pajamas for the cool nights.
5. Having run tonight since we won't have time to run in the morning because Harper and I are going to the pumpkin patch.
6. Going to the pumpkin patch tomorrow.
7. Harper cracking up laughing at the simplest things.
8. Family coming to town next weekend for Harper's baptism.

Hanging With Jasmine

We had an open house today, so Cassie, Harper and I hung out at Jenny's house with Jasmine and Lily (their dog). Jenny and Jeremy went to Daytona Beach for bike week. We put Harper in the laundry basket so that Lily couldn't get him. Obviously that didn't work.

Facebook

I officially joined Facebook. I still don't know what I am doing on it, but I am there. I tried knitting, but my teach yourself book was too confusing. I am going to have to wait until my mom comes next week to teach me. Allen also bought me the bike trailer, but it is raining and Harper is sleeping, so facebook it is.

Activities

A few things that Harper enjoys lately (well besides sleeping and eating).

He loves reading (thanks meme for an early Halloween present). When he sees a book he starts talking up a storm.

He loves playing with this fish from Great Grandma Lancaster. It often distracts him from our sitting up practices.

He also loves his exersaucer. Who wouldn't, look at all of those toys!

Look at those cheeks, how can he still not be on the charts. Maybe by the next appointment!

Hobby

So I need to come up a hobby. Harper has been such a good sleeper these days. He takes two naps a day. His morning nap is usually about an hour and a half and his afternoon is usually over two hours. I don't think that this will last, it must be a growth spurt or something. But I still need something to do in the meantime. I think it is funny that I feel I need a hobby, because I often feel over scheduled. I guess that is just my nights, I need a hobby for my days. I have tried running but that is a lot of work, especially with a stroller. Plus I can't do that during Harper's naps. I can't wait until my birthday, so I can get a bike trailer. Then you won't be surprised to see Harper and me riding around town. I have been reading books for book club, but I need something that occupies my hands so that I will stop eating. I have thought about scrapbooking, but with our house on the market that leaves too big of a mess to clean up after. I am afraid my next hobby will be facebook. I think that I have settled on knitting, so get excited for some scarfs for Christmas presents!

And yes, our house is officially on the market if any of you would like to buy it. We aren't sure where we will go if it sells though.

Squash Not As Messy

We tried squash today. Harper ate a whole jar again, so I guess that means he likes it.

Now the sippy cup on the other hand, was pretty messy. Maybe next time we will try water instead of milk!

This is the wrong way to sit in a bouncy seat.
