Happy New Year!

Our friends had a kid friendly New Year's Party.
Party Animal
I asked Harper if we could share a necklace with Avalyn. He told me we were all out. I wonder why since he has on atleast 5! He did find one for her!
Harper and Cole eating marshmallows
Sparklers!
We had the ball drop about 8:00. Here is everyone getting ready for it!
The ball is hanging from the ceiling fan. Curt made it really drop.
It was nice to be home by 9. New Years just isn't what it used to be, but we had fun celebrating with friends!

Playground!

The main reason that Harper went to Grandma and Granddaddy's was so the playground could be installed.
Harper screamed when he first saw the playground
Holden can barely reach the steering wheel, but he loves it!
I like to call this picture-their first date!
Holden was cracking up throwing this tennis ball to Grandma
I was babysitting Ella because Harrison has a high fever and had to go to the hospital.

While Harpers Away

We dropped Harper off at Grandma and Granddaddy's on the way home from Michigan. He had way too much there! They stayed at Meredith and Trent's the first night and did lots of bike riding. Then they went to the new Discovery Museum, but didn't have a camera. They even took Harper roller skating for the first time!It took a few days to get settled back into our house after our trip-unpacking, laundry and putting away Christmas presents. I did have some time to work on some projects around the house though.
Finally hung up the dress up clothes in the playroom
I also hung this to display Harper's art work
Holden doesn't have as much art work yet!
We sure did miss Harper and are so glad that he is home!

Merry Christmas

Christmas always starts with Christmas Eve at Meme and Poppy's house. We exchange all of the family presents.
Harper opened this bag of bath stuff from the Hatts and held up the shampoo and said "This is exactly what I wanted"
Holden wasn't interested in opening presents. He just wanted to sit in his chair.
Or on the box
Jack slept through the presents and opened his after everyone left
Leaving the reindeer food in the front lawn
The cup and cookies Harper selected for Santa
All of the Santa presents lined up pretty
He immediately got on his bike
Holden checking out Harper's new book
Harper and his new Mater
Allen and the boys playing with the new toys
Poppy helping Holden open his present
Harper riding his bike outside
After we opened our Santa presents we headed to the Hatts for breakfast and to play with their new toys!
Nathan and Allen playing their new Kinect game
Harper making his styrofoam "snow"
It took 3 people to clean up his mess!
We all headed to Marybeth's house for lunch. Seven of the nine Lancaster kids were represented there. I can't even remember the last time we were all together like that-maybe our wedding 9 years ago!
Lori and Harper playing under the table (two years ago it was Marybeth playing under the table!)
Nathan loving on Holden
The kids decided to climb on each other one last time!
We had a great Christmas and we are so glad that we made the long trip to Michigan!

Our Week in Michigan

We had a great week in Michigan, but of course it went too fast. Here are some highlights and I will post Christmas later.

We spent the first evening with my college friends at Mary's. It was so great to see all of them and their families.
All of the kids
Playing pin the nose on the snowman
Staying up late to watch Christmas movies with Poppy
We took Harper to the mall and he was in love! He kept asking to go back all week. He loved the Rainforest Cafe, Bass Pro Shop and the indoor carousel. He also got his picture taken with Santa again at Bass.
We went to Crossroads Village to ride the train to look at lights. But when we got there, the trains were already full. We had fun walking around and doing other stuff anyway.
Waiting to see the reindeer
Group picture with a reindeer
Harper loved the carousel
Nathan and Harper
It snowed just enough to go out and have a snowball fight!
Fighting with Poppy
Making a snow angel
Allen and Harper
Holden loved pushing this mailbox over and riding on it
Harper wanted to join in the fun!
