Tim's Wedding

Tim Schwantes got married this past weekend in Chapel Hill. We drove up Friday to Kings Mountain to spend the night at the Wares. We woke up early Saturday and headed to Chapel Hill. Harper stayed with Grandma and Grandaddy. We got there in time to watch the football game at Spanky's. The wedding was beautiful even though it rained the whole day. The ceremony was at a church and then the reception was in a barn. Tim and Anna are such a perfect match. We are so excited for them to start their lives together! Sorry we don't have good pictures of the bride and groom.

You were supposed to write well wishes on this board for the bride and groom. You then took a picture with their camera. The guys thought their message was funny-the girls didn't get it.
After the reception we met Sage and Whitney at Top of the Hill. We all felt like rock stars for staying out until almost 2.
We had to get Gumby's on the way home, especially since it was across the street from our hotel! Pokey Sticks are the best!
Sunday we met Sage, Whitney, Alex and Christy for breakfast at Breadmans. Then Allen and I walked around campus. It was so nice to spend time with some old friends!
Harper had so much fun with Grandma and Grandaddy. They had so many activities planned. They went to the movies with church. They played a bunch. They even went to the playground and rode a train and a carousel. Thanks so much for watching Harper! I know that he just loves spending time with you!
Harper loves being pushed around in Grandaddy's baby stroller.
We also went down to Big Rock to play in the creek behind their house. Harper had fun floating his toys down the creek!

Harper is 18 Months

Harper is now 18 months. I thought that it would be hard to say, but over the past month, I have been telling people that he is already 18 months, so I am over it! Harper is turning into such a little man.

He has finally started saying animal sounds. He likes to roar like a lion and quack like a duck.

He loves to play "Ring Around the Rosey". He would play it for hours, if I had enough energy to fall down and keep getting back up.

He has really started to "play" with his toys. He rolls his trucks across the floor. He uses cookie cutters and rolls out his playdough. He walks his animal toys on the table.

He loves to read. He has his few favorites that he goes back to-Elmo, No David, Dinosaurs and he likes to pretend eat the food in his farm book. He loves books with flaps to flip.
Allen calls this pose the sumo wrestler
His measurements:
Weight 24 lbs 14 oz (25-50%)
Height 32 inches (25-50%)
Head 19.5 inches (95%)

Garage Sale

We had a garage sale! Our friends BJ and Amy were having one and invited others to participate. I gathered up as much as I could. I couldn't believe how much I came up with. We made $360 and I still have $900 of thrift to donate to the Junior League's Thrift Sale. Things got a little crazy, so we didn't take any pictures during the garage sale. This is one of us cleaning up. Jenny also had some stuff to sell. She spent most of her profits on a new kitchen table that she bought from Amy and BJ. Harper couldn't get enough of Amy. He only wanted her to help him with his popiscle. They also had a great bubble machine, that Harper was obsessed with! And of course, only Amy could blow bubbles with him!
I didn't realize how much work garage sales are, I am so glad it is over!

Sandbox

Friday Harper and I met some friends for lunch and then headed to the Sandbox. Harper had so much fun. Although he didn't want to stay in the toddler room, where it was more relaxing for me!
Harper passed out on the way home!

Mom's Night Out

Thursday night was our monthly mom's night out. We started with dinner at Guiseppi's and then headed to the Metropolitan. We had a great time! We had 9 moms make it out for some part of the night. Some random guy bought us a bottle of champagne. The $4 martinis kept us out until 1 am! I can't wait until next month!

Fun in a Box

I got Harper's car seat box out of the garage. He loves playing in it.

Working at the Car Wash

Harper helped Allen wash the cars yesterday. Allen quickly learned that Harper would need his own rag. Sorry the pictures aren't the best, because he wanted nothing to do the the camera. He wouldn't even look up from his bucket. Who knew a bucket could be so much fun! We will definitely be doing this again!

Church Dinner

Sunday night, we hosted about 50 of the church's volunteers for dinner. We are so blessed to belong to such a great church. It is so wonderful that our closest friends serve in the same ministries that we do, so they were able to celebrate with us. This was the easiest party to have. Elizabeth brought all of the drnks, hamburgers, hotdogs and stuff to go with them. The guests brought the sides. All I had to do was make sure the house was picked up and set up! There were also plenty of people to keep Harper entertained! So nice!
