The Mice will Play

Allen went to Philadelphia for a real estate trade show this weekend. So Harper, Holden and I did a lot playing! Allen left Friday morning and we headed to Target to get Mary Kate's birthday present. We discovered this Buzz Lightyear set in the clearance section.
When we got home he put on his costume from Nathan. He only wore it long enough to take a few pictures though.
Saturday we went to Mary Kate's birthday party (see other post). We went home for naptime and then went to Moe's for dinner. Harper still keeps talking about his dinner there.
Just some random pictures of Holden before church. Not sure why his hair looks red in these pictures?
After church we went to Michael's for some scrapbooking stuff and came across more growing gel caps. Harper got some at a birthday party and loved them. These are dinosaurs and were just as fun!
Trying to get some pictures of Holden's baby mohawk curl.

Sunday was a warm sunny day, so we decided to have dinner on the beach. We met the Bullmans and the Collerans there, but it had cooled off a bunch. It was Holden's first time at the beach.

Also, they started framing our house. So exciting!

Sales Executive of the Year

Allen has won Sales Executive of the Year for Hampton Lake. That means that he made the most sales in 2010. We are so proud of him and so blessed that he is a great salesman even in this down real estate market. Allen is such a hard worker. Even on his days off he is answering phone calls and returning emails. We are so thankful for his job and that I am still able to stay home with the boys. Allen has won 3 out of the last four years (2007, 2008 and 2010)!Mary said I needed to add a picture to this post, so here is one of the three pictures that I have of Allen alone! One was used for the last time we won and the other one is in a tux from Sage's wedding.

Family Resemblance

I still think Holden resembles my sister Jenny, especially his pout face. I went through my old childhood pictures and this is the only baby picture of Jenny I have. I think it is mostly the chubby cheeks and light hair.
Jenny sent me some pictures that she had. This is the three sisters-Jenny, Amy and me.
I am the one holding the Pooh stuffed animal. Jenny thinks it looks like Harper.
Here is Allen as a baby with his Paw Paw. I can see Holden in this picture too.

Mary Kate's Birthday Party

We got to go to Mary Kate's birthday party on Saturday. It was at our favorite place, The Sandbox. Harper had fun playing with all of his friends. His favorite thing is still flying the airplane. I could barely get him out of it. Especially since his daddy flew on an airplane to Philadelphia.

Holden is 2 Months

Another month has passed so quickly. Holden is doing great.
-He usually sleeps about 10 hours per night. We put him down between 8-9 and he sleeps until about 6. Then he goes back to sleep for a couple hours. Two nights ago he did do 8 to 8, which was awesome.
-He has rolled over both ways, but I think it was just because he was on a slant or something. He hardly ever even lays on her back to practice. And he only tolerates his stomach for a few minutes. He definitely likes to be held. He will stay in his swing for a few minutes too and usually falls asleep in it.
-He usually is a good napper. We are trying to work on self soothing for sleep and it has made nap times a little rough. Here are his stats from his Thursday appointment:
Weight-11 lbs 11 ounces (50%)
Height-22.5 inches (25%)
Head-16.25 inches (75%)

The doctor said everything looked good and he was growing great!

Playing Outside

Harper loves being outside. He got to play for a few minutes tonight before swim lessons.

Here is our Valentines Day craft. We made animals out of hearts.

34 Months Old

Harper is two months away from being 3 years old. I can't even believe that I already have to start planning his party.

-He is way too smart. He just says that craziest things. Allen and I were talking in the front seat of the car, not realizing that Harper was listening. Holden still screams in his carseat sometimes and I feel terrible for Harper. On this particular day, Harper kept asking for snacks. I told Allen that Harper was emotional eating. Then Harper asks from the back seat-What's emotional eating?

-He still has a crazy memory. He found a toy bat the other day. He said I remember when Meme gave this to me at that restaurant. That was on a visit when they came here for his 2 year old party. And isn't like we had just talked about it.

-He is still wearing diapers at bedtime and naptime. Maybe we will stop when he moves into his big boy bed. I am hoping to keep him in his crib until we move to Hampton Lake though.

-He loves being a big brother and is so helpful. He likes to help put Holden down for his nap and give him his bath.

-He has such a big heart. He is always concerned when his "friends" are sad or happy.

We love this boy so much and love watching him grow up, even if it is too quickly!

Snow Day

I survived the first major outing alone with both boys! We went to Snow Day. It is an annual event where they make snow. This was the first year that we went. We actually had real snow flurries again in Bluffton before we headed there. I put Holden in the Baby Bjorne. They had tons of bounce houses, so I ended up also carrying Harper. That was easier than putting his boots on at each bounce house. He would crawl in one and say it was too bouncy, so he had to move onto the next. He did miss out not having Allen there, because they had alot of big slides and I just couldn't carry Holden and Harper up them.

Of course, since we were close to the mall, we had to go to the playground there. Harper has adopted the turtle. He says that it is sad, because it misses him.

He would not get off the phone. He was talking to Allen.
I carried Holden and pushed Harper.
We had a great time and now I am ready for a nap!
