Diaper Drive

My bible study group is hosting a Diaper Drive July 13 from 5-8 at Chick-fil-A in Bluffton. Bring the entire family to support this cause because kids eat free with the purchase of any combo meal. Baby wipes, diaper cream and cash donations for the purchase of diapers also will be accepted. Diapers and supplies collected will be donated to Bluffton Self Help.

Keeping a baby in clean, dry diapers can cost more than $100 a month. However, many low-income parents can only afford to purchase one diaper a day for their young children, which can increase the child’s risk of potential health problems.

Also, Jim N Nicks in Bluffton will be hosting a spirit night, where 10% of the sales from the night go to the diaper drive. So go out to eat and tell all your friends to on July 12th for dinner!

Busy Week

We had such a busy week and I didn't take many pictures. Harper has been going to summer school, but they had this week off for VBS at the church. Harper and I filled the time with many activities.

Monday was playgroup at the Hampton Lake pool.

Tuesday I hosted our moms group from church at the Hampton Hall pool. Then at night I had book club. We met at Grayson's to discuss The Thirteenth Tale.

Wednesday was my mom's bible study in the morning. Afterwards, Harper and I headed to the library to make a craft. The actual craft was a little old for Harper, but they also had a bracelet station set up. Harper had a great time making his bracelet. Then I went to the dentist. We also had small group at our house at night.Thursday the appraiser came to our house so Harper and I headed out. We went to story time (lapsit) at the library, ran some errands and then met my boss for lunch. She is the one who runs the website that I work for. We had never met before, so it nice to talk in person. She brought her 10 month old son and both boys were pretty well behaved.

Friday Allen was off, so we exercised in the morning and then ran some errands. Meredith has decided to get married this August, so we had to get Harper's passport taken care of. Then we headed to the beach. Harper had so much fun playing in a hole full of water. Allen and I got to relax a little while Harper entertained himself.

4th of July Craft

Here are some fun 4th of July crafts. Harper saw me getting the crafts out before naptime. When I put him down for his nap he said "Harper play craft when I get up." Then after naptime he came running into the living room shouting "Mommy, I am ready to craft." He has such a great memory!Tune into lowcountrychild.com shortly for the instructions or familyfun.com where I got the idea!

Shannon Tanner at Hampton Lake

Saturday night Shannon Tanner performed at Hampton Lake. He entertains children with silly songs and dancing. We had a great time, even though the weather was rainy. A bunch of our friends came out for the event. I tried to get an updated family picture, it will work for now, but we still need to get another one.

Andrew, Mary Kate and Ginger
Amanda, Delia and Jason
Avalyn, Grayson and Clayton
Claire, Matt, and Madalyn (I just love how they are rubbing each others heads)

Harper was so into the dancing. I thought he would be shy, but he wasn't. I tried to get a video, but he stopped when I started recording. They were doing the sprinkler and Hokey Pokey. It was so cute!

More Beach Pictures

Allen had the whole weekend off, since this was supposed to be the weekend we were moving (our closing has been pushed back to July 19th). Saturday we headed to the beach with some friends. Harper was excited to play with Mary Kate again!

8 Year Anniversary

Allen and I just celebrated our 8 year anniversary. That is just crazy to think that we have been married for 8 years! I had bible study on our actual anniversary, so we went out to dinner the next night. We headed to Savannah for dinner at Moon River. It was great to have some adult conversation without a two year old interrupted.

Another Beach Playgroup

I know I have been a blog slacker lately and I have no excuse. I hope you enjoy the updates!

We had another great Friday beach playgroup today. He had a couple new members. Melissa, Sara, Lauren and Jackson joined in the fun. The kids had fun playing and the moms had fun chatting.

Night Swimming

We have been going swimming when Allen gets home from work. The weather is cooler and there aren't many people at the pool. We found Harper's baby sunglasses and he wouldn't take them off.

Harper is showing off what he learned in 3 months of swim lessons. Last week was the last one for the summer.

Aiden Turns 2!

Last Saturday, Harper and I went to Aiden's birthday party at Island Playground. I don't think that we have been there since Harper could even walk. He was alittle hesitate of the big blow up things, but ended up getting more brave. Harper loved the one with the basketball hoops because it was also filled with balls! He kept collecting the balls and having me hold them, so the other kids couldn't play with them. He would get mad when I threw them.
Andrew dunking with his dad
I couldn't believe that Harper climbed up the big stairs and went down the slide all by himself. It helps that he was following Andrew. He went up one time completely alone and Andrew's dad helped rescue him, because he got scared at the top.

Harper enjoying his cupcake. He licked the frosting and that was about it!

Babysitting Ella

Harper and I had the privilege of babysitting Ella for less than an hour last Tuesday. I got out some of Harper's baby toys and bouncy seat out. Harper loved the "new" toys. He would give Ella the toys he didn't want and take whatever she had. He stills calls them Ella's toys. He didn't understand why Ella couldn't walk and chase him.
Harper had fun laying down next to Ella
When we have two kids, we will not have many pictures. It is impossible to get two kids to look at the camera!

Beach Day

Allen had the day off today. Before church we packed up everything for the beach, so we just had to come home and change. We first met the Jacobis there, but they had been there for awhile so they had to leave shortly after we got there. Then the Campbells and the Nelsons came out. Harper really enjoyed some one on one time with Mary Claire. She actually played with Harper too, since he was the only other kid there!
Allen put a dead crab on my chair. I screamed and ran. He laughed so hard. He said is was the most fun he had in awhile. So not cool!

Nathan's First Baseball Game

My nephew, Nathan had his first baseball game on Saturday. He hit a triple, got the first game ball and played well in the outfield. His coach told him he played a heck of a game. Great job Nathan! We are so proud of you!We weren't there, but Amy sent us pictures and filled us in on the details!

Congrats to Meredith and Trent

Allen's sister Meredith got engaged on Saturday! We are so excited for them. They are planning a destination wedding to St. Lucia in March.

Self Portraits

Here are my failed attempts to get Harper's and my picture. He kept saying more, so I kept taking more!
"Harper sit still please"
"Harper say cheese"
"No, Harper keep your eyes open"
"Harper, please open your eyes"
"Harper, are your eyes open"
A little better
Big cheese
