A New Baby Hog

Clayton has really enjoyed playing with Harper lately. He is pretty crazy, so it makes Harper laugh! Here is Clayton putting all of Harper's toys on him while he was drinking his bottle.
Don't worry-Lewis still fed Harper his dinner before Clayton took over the playtime.

Week in Review

Okay, so I guess it has been more than a week, but here is what we did.

We had our playgroup at Island Playground. The kids really had a blast, especially the mobile ones. They really have some great toys for the little ones.
Dade just hanging out on the turtle.
Henry sitting for just a second.
Cole and Harper
Harper loves turkey!

Thanks for the sports center Meme!
We are working on playing on our knees.
And pulling up.
Harper feeding himself spaghetti.
We went straight to the tub.

We love CBS, here is Harper on the ride home each week.
Harper's two front teeth are so close to coming in (not sure why the picture is turned).
Cassie got a haircut!
Our friends Danny and Mary are moving back to Virgina. We will all miss them very much. Clayton and Grayson had a going away party for them. We burned their Christmas tree in the fire pit-pretty scary. It burns in just a few minutes.
Leslie had Harper and I over while the guys were out of town. Kim, Shelby and JP were there too. Neely and Eliza had a blast playing with Harper. They kept wanting to hold him. It is so nice to have some great friends so close by. Harper felt pretty cool sitting at the kid's table during dinner.

PT Update

The woman from Babynet came to our house yesterday for Harper's evaluation. Harper didn't even need to be there, she just asked me a bunch of questions. Most of them were really confusing-Does Harper pick up toys like this or like this? She would show me pictures but I couldn't even tell the difference between the pictures. She also had a hard time determining the cut off for a 9 month old, since the program goes up to 3 year olds. She asked some random questions like if you gave Harper a crayon would he color with it-no he would eat it, so why would I give him a crayon. She also asked if he could repeat nursery rhymes even though she already knew that he only says mama and dada. I guess she doesn't get too many babies-most of the kids in the program are in it for speech.

Well she called back today with his results and she recommended that he does have pt. She was concerned that he isn't crawling, can't pull up from sitting and can't sit from laying down. You have to test below in 2 categories and he only tested for one. The cut off was a 4 for gross motor skills and he scored a 4. Everything else he scored above. This means that we won't have a mediator for the program and will just have the physical therapist. We meet to discuss our goals in two weeks and then we can meet with the therapist. I honestly don't think that he needs it, we just need to work more on it. He has already been pulling up from sitting today. We will see what he can do by our goal meeting and decide then. She did give me a great hand out with some helpful games and activities for kids up to 5.

Broken computer

Our computer has a virus. I only have Allen's ipod touch for Internet, hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Here is an brief update on us:

Harper's pt appointment is this thursday. They are coming to our house for the evaluation. I will let you know how it goes.

Harper's crib has been recalled. I got an email from toys'r'us. He is sleeping in his pack n play until we get the voucher to get the new crib.

Allen has a sales retreat this week-wish me luck-it will be my first time alone with harper at night!

I will post more with new pictures as soon as our computer is fixed!

Harper's 9 Month Checkup

Harper just had his 9th appointment. Here are his stats:
Weight-17 pounds 12 ounces (5-10%)
Height-27 1/4 inches (10-25%)
Head-18 inches (50-75%)
We are happy that his weight stayed in the same percentages and that he has a big "brain."

The doctor was concerned that Harper isn't crawling yet. She wants us to see a physical therapist to strengthen his upper body. She said that we probably won't qualify for a repeat visit, but she wants to have him evaluated. I feel like she is overreacting, but she is the expert so we will see what they say. He is doing everything else that he should, he just hates tummy time. I don't force him to do it, so I guess it is my fault. We have been working on it now though! I will keep you posted on the results.

Michigan State Bowl Game

The reason that we spent New Year's in Orlando was to go to the Capital One Bowl with the Campbells. Georgia was playing Michigan State. MSU held their own until the 4th quarter so that was good (24-12 final score). We sat in the Georgia section since that is where Emily and Lewis went. We got barked at a few times by their drunk fans (they are the bulldogs). Their fans are pretty into their football! The best thing about the game was that they served beer-you all know how much I love sports!
Lots of red
Sparty!

New Year's Eve

Allen and I headed to Orlando for New Year's Eve. We went with the Campbells and the Collerans. We had so much fun. It was our first night away from Harper and I think that we all did just fine! Thanks so much Mary Lou for watching Harper!

"Dancing Queen" was on so Emily and Clayton had to do their dance from the "Bullman Spend the Night"

The gang on the bike/cart. It was so much fun, but really hard, especially since Emily didn't pedal!
It is starting to get late.
Almost midnight-we made it!
Happy New Year!

I will spare you the drunk pictures and the videos from later in the night. What a great time!

Christmas Crafts

I had fun making Christmas crafts from tracing Harper's hands and feet. I should have used paint to do the prints, but I could mass produce these to give to everyone at Christmas (and it was less messy).
Here is the reindeer with his hands as antlers and his foot as the face.
Here is the angel with his hands as the wings and his foot as the body.
Here is tree made from his hands.
And a close-up of his hand from the tree.
Well Christmas is over and it is time for our life to go back to normal. I am sad that the season is over, but I am also excited for some quiet time. I am trying to put all of the decorations away and have a clean house again. Why is it so not fun to put them away as it was to decorate?!?
