Jenny, Harper and I headed to Michigan for a few days. My Uncle Ray was dieing of cancer and we wanted to drive up to say goodbye to him. We were able to spend a few wonderful days with him. His health was deteriorating as we headed home. They moved him to hospice and it was only a matter of time before he passed away. He actually died on his 68th birthday.
Uncle Ray was married to my Aunt Marybeth. They were our closest aunt and uncle growing up. We spent many Friday nights at their house, enjoying pizza and Blizzards. During the summer we spent many weekends at their cabin on the lake. We would borrow the neighbors windsurf board and pretend we were surfing even though there were never any waves. Ray also offered to let us drive his truck when we were way too young to even think about it. One time I used my Cabbage Patch Kids tape player to tape him snoring, just to prove that he snored. He always let us tease him and he just took it. We got older and stopped hanging out as much and then I moved away. He continued to help Jenny out as a single mother. He even threw out his shocks on his truck moving patio bricks to her house. He would mow her lawn and shovel her driveway. He often took Allen fishing while we were home-just a nice treat for Allen to get some man time. Allen and I would depend on Ray to pick us up from the far away Detroit airport. He would never complain about it. He always did so much for our family.
We will miss you Uncle Ray. We loved you very much!

Even though our trip was very sad to say goodbye to Ray. It was nice to spend time with family. My Aunt Linda hadn't met Harper yet so that was good to see her.
Harper and Great Grandma Stone

It was also great to see Harper play with his cousins-Natalie and Nathan.

Don't get any ideas about a drumset for Christmas!

We took Lily with us, so that Allen didn't have to deal with her. Nathan loved taking care of her and it looks like Lily took a liking to Nathan too!

A big thanks to Allen for staying with Jasmine so she didn't have to take time off of school. You are such a great uncle!
