Fall Crafts

Harper and I made several crafts this afternoon. We went for a walk in the woods to collect our supplies-leaves, sticks, bark, pine needles, rocks, etc.
Working on our first one-sponge painting leaves on a tree created with bark and sticks.
We also made a pom-pom apple tree.
We made creatures out of leaves.
I had the most fun with these. We made little people out of our treasures from the woods.

Cousins

Sorry to be so slack with the posting lately. Now that our fall has officially started, I am feeling really overscheduled-with 3 bibles studies, children's teacher and treasurer for one and hosting the other two, book club, blogging, scrapbooking, running again (finally) and all of the normal household responsibilities. But I will try to keep up!

I forgot about these pictures until I uploaded them onto the computer. We spent the day at Jenny's last week, while our house was being sprayed for bugs (just the usual quarterly spray). Holden had to be out of the house for 8 hours though!
Jack kept crawling out of picture, so Harper held him.

Awana

Harper has started Awana. It is at his school, so that helps him feel comfortable there. He learns bible stories and memory verses. They also play games and just have fun! He got his vest this week and was so excited!

The Beach

Same goes for the beach. We never know when it will be the last trip of the season. We had such great weather and the tide was perfect for little puddles.

Found some!

Holden not so sure about the waves

Holden is 10 Months Old

Holden is just getting so big. Although he still doesn't have any teeth! He really is sweet and rarely cries.

He is so greedy with his food and shovels it all in at once. Mealtime is frustrating because he just screams at you to hurry up.

He is trying to drop a feeding, because he usually sleeps through it. Also he eats so much breakfast that it lasts him longer. He usually eats at 8 and 12, then sometimes again before his 5 feeding and again at 8. He usually gets 3 meals of solids, 2 bottles and 2-3 times nursing.

He has finally learned to pull himself up and to crawl on his knees.

He still usually takes 3 naps a day, but sometimes he only gets in one, depending on our schedule. We really want him to drop that evening nap, but sometimes he still needs it.

He has added v-v-voom and woof to his vocab.
To be so flexible!

Swimming

Everytime we swim this time of year, I think it will be the last. I wanted to take tons of pictures today at the pool, just incase it was our last time. Harper doesn't like his picture taken right now, so here are a bunch of Holden.
Loving the splash pad
Holden is mostly on his knees now, but still does some army crawl too.
Harper finally!

Harper is 3 and a Half

What to say about Harper? He is really such a great kid. He is sweet and loving and has an incredible memory. He loves to dress up and accessorize. He loves crafts.

We are struggling with naptime. I know that he still needs a nap because he still sleeps for 2-3 hours. It is just getting him to realize he needs it. He loves to stall, asking questions, asking for more hugs, saying he has to go potty or he is hungry. I get so frustrated and do know what to do. We both need his naptime!
Still not tall enough even with the stool!
Here are his interview questions-his answers are so manly! (thanks Amy for the idea). Most of his answers had to do with what we were doing at that time.
What is your name? Harper
How old are you? 3
What is your favorite color? Pink
Who is your best friend? Coleman
What is your favorite animal? Horsey (because he was holding his stuffed horsey)
What do you want to be when you grow up? Fisherman (that is what he wants to be for Halloween)
What is your favorite movie? Tangled
What is your favorite book? Dora
What makes you happy? Raisins (because we were making Ants on a Log)
What makes you sad? When there is a snake (because he can't play in the garage alone, since we found a snake in there)
What is your favorite food? Peaches (because he just finished eating them)
What is your favorite song? Hole in the Middle of the Road
What is your favorite game? Checkers (don't know if he has ever played!)

Harper Fishing

Harper has really been into fishing lately. They go to the Boathouse and use bread. Harper catches fish every few minutes there. They are perfect Harper sized fish!
Still not interested in getting too close
This boy was also fishing with his daddy
Harper's big catch
Holden watching the action
Still a little scared when he realizes he caught one!

Just love the screams in this one!

Holden

Some recent pictures of Holden. I just love him in red!

Camping with Grandma and Granddaddy

Harper spent the weekend camping with Grandma and Granddaddy in North Carolina. Susan and Jerry also had Jonah for the weekend. They had so much fun even though it was cold and rainy.
Here is the cabin they stayed in and Harper even slept on the top bunk!

Reading in their matching shirts
They went fishing
They played on the playground
They rode the carousal
They went to the little zoo at the campground
They fed ducks
They had so much fun. Emily and Lewis were in Charlotte for the weekend, so they drove Harper home. He was asleep before Lewis even finished buckling him in and didn't wake up until the exit to our house!

Holden's First Day of School

Holden is also going to school this year, only one day a week. I am a children's teacher for CBS-the 4 year olds. We have our bible study and training on Tuesdays, so Holden will be in school for that. The backpack was just for looks, he didn't really wear it.
Holden also likes to wave now. This is a two handed one!

Here are all of the CBS teachers-what a wonderful group!
