North Carolina Trip

What a fun and busy trip we had to North Carolina.  We got a late start on Wednesday (since Allen was selling some property!), so we had to skip dinner and haircuts at Meredith's.  We headed start to Allen's parents.  The boys got to play outside before dinner.  I will try to post some of those videos later.

Thursday we headed to Tweetsie!  A railroad amusement park.  Everyone had so much fun!  The boys rode all the rides they can and weren't scared!  They weren't so sure about the cowboy/Indian fight on the big train, but won't stop talking about it now.  We even acted it out at home!  Warning-lots of pictures in this post!
First stop the carousel
Holden looked like this all day, even though he said he was having fun!
 Driving the cars

 First big ride
 Airplane ride!
Holden finally had a big smiling and kept saying "This is fun."

The Ferris Wheel-the only one Holden wouldn't ride
 Chair lift

 Boat ride-Holden's favorite
 Gem mining

 Deer Park petting zoo
 Harper's favorite-the baby goat
Holden kept saying "I'm done" for this ride

After Tweestsie, we went next door to Mystery Hill.  This room was a vortex and gravity was different.  You stood at a 45 degree angle, balls rolled up and water flowed up in pipes.  It was so weird.  It also made you super dizzy.
Before heading home, we had a picnic lunch and played at Lake Montonia.
Holden was like a fish and kept putting his face in the water.
 Harper was catching tadpoles
Hudson got to enjoy the water too!
Harper was brave and jumped in off the dock.  The first time he went straight from the dock to Allen.

Then he found a noodle and went off the diving board
We had a great trip and squeezed as much fun as we could!  And the boys were worn out and slept some of the way home!

Hudson just looks so different now.

Pool Time

I wanted to wear the boys out so they would sleep in the car on the way to North Carolina.  I think it worked!
Holden crab walking, the swim lessons worked!
 Playing in the pool shower
I should have brought soap, so I didn't have to bathe them at home!

I let the boys ride in the seat so their carseats wouldn't get wet
Going to North Carolina!

Super Heroes

I got the boys some new superhero masks today.  Good thing I got 3!  I used my good camera for this picture.
Here is what it looks like when I use my phone camera.  Sitting together.

Then Harper does
Then they both move!

Homemade Watermelon Popsicles

Since Harper doesn't nap, we have had to get creative during naptime.  We play lots of games and do crafts.  This is our latest.

4th of July

What a big 4th of July we had!  We have been in Michigan the past 2 years for the 4th, so we were excited to do some local stuff this year.  We started out the day with the Children's Parade.  It is downtown.  Everyone decorates their bikes, strollers, wagons, etc and parade down the street.

 Allen wearing Hudson as usual
Holden and Harrison traded cars for the parade
 Allen and the boys
 In the parade!
Harper and Mady with their awesome kazoos.
Straight from the parade, we headed to the sandbar.  I never trust taking my camera on the water and it was a good thing I didn't, because we got rained on!  It was just a few minutes, but everything got soaked.  We had a great time hanging out with friends.
After some late naps and dinner, our family headed to Palmetto Bluff to watch the fireworks.  You can see several shows over the water and we are far enough away that they aren't loud to scare the kids.  Plus there are no people there.  As the kids get older, we will someday have to join the crowds, but now it was perfect!
