Harper's First Day of School

Harper's school has finally started! We are the last school to start. But we are so happy to be back. Harper is going three days this year. Someday we are going to plan ahead for these pictures and not be rushing out the door with wet hair! He is so big, this is the outfit that he picked out.
Just love this face!

Ware Visit

Allen's parents came down to see the new house. We had such a great visit, with great weather and lots of playing.
And lots of fishing. Allen caught a really big fish, but the picture is on Jim's camera, so once I get it from him, I'll post it.

We had a picnic on the bluff at sunset

Riding on a firetruck at the Bluffton Block Party
There was also lots of bike riding, tennis playing, bubble blowing, sand, cars and games playing. Thanks for coming to visit!

Labor Day Weekend

We had a great Labor Day Weekend. But I should have blogged sooner, because now I can't remember everything we did!

Friday night we played tourists again. We went to Family Fun Night at the Sandbox. It was Monster Truck night. Harper loved pretending to drive them.
Wearing the army helmet
After the Sandbox, we headed to the Shannon Tanner show. Harper started out sitting with Allen (red shirt far right).
Getting alittle braver-not sitting with Allen anymore (red shirt center)
Even more brave, trying to sign with the big kids. These girls sang the longest, most annoying song and now Harper loves to sing it (Bazooka Zooka Bubble Gum)
Saturday we had a great family day. We went to the pool party at Hampton Lake. Harper loved playing in this baby float.
The boys tried played an Oreo game,
but ended up just eating the Oreos.
We used the new grill for the first time for dinner. It was so good, even just hotdogs and corn on the cob. Then we had a fire in the fire pit and ate smores.
I think Allen had to work on Sunday and Monday. We did celebrate Labor Day at the Ross House with awesome gourmet hotdogs!

Sand Gnats

We took the boys to the Savannah Sand Gnats game tonight. It is a minor league baseball team. It was $1 night-$1 admission, hotdogs, soda, chips and beer. We met some friends there and had a great time. We even got to hang out with our old buddies-Richard and Claire! Harper's favorite part was the mascot-Nate the Gnat.

Hurricane Irene

Everyone from Michigan keeps asking how we are doing with the hurricane. Fortunately for us, it isn't coming anywhere near us. On Monday, it was headed straight for us and I was really dreading packing up to evacuate, since we just got unpacked and settled. But the path quickly changed. We haven't had any bad weather, we even went to the pool for playgroup today. I took the boys out for a walk while Allen was making dinner. This is what we found. We got caught in a pouring rain and had to run home. Allen came out to help us, since Holden was in the stroller and Harper was in his Little Tykes truck. I was trying to push them both home.
After dinner, we got out our raincoats and umbrellas to play in the rain.
All prepared for the rain!
So happy!
The rain quickly cleared up, but Harper thought he heard thunder.

Small Group Babies

Our small group has 11 kids now! Here are the babies. They are all born within 3 months of each other, with Holden being the oldest and smallest!

Holden is 9 Months

How is time going so fast!

-He still eats every 3 hours and we are trying to have a third solid meal (lunch), but he sometimes sleeps through it. We added meats (deli turkey and ground beef) and some cheese. He will pretty much eat anything. But he is not a fan of green veggies and it is easier to feed veggies to him than finger solids. I am still nursing him 3-4 feedings a day, then he gets a bottle for the other ones.

-He still takes a morning nap when we are home and an afternoon nap when Harper does. I am trying to push it back, so he will sleep later and not require another nap before bedtime. Especially now that he is eating dinner with us, he used to sleep while we ate!

-He finally learned how to sit up by himself and that is how we find him after naptime. He still really wants to crawl but hasn't figured it out yet.

-He is really happy and loves attention, especially from strangers! He loves to babble. His current favorite is bahbahbah (b sound). He also lives to make the p sound and the t sound.
Here are his stats:
Weight 15 pounds 10 ounces (<5%)
Height 26 inches (<5%)
Head 18 3/4 inches (95%)
